Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a visitor enters a name or birth date into a third-party search box, the query is sent to that provider for processing. The provider returns its own results under its own practices. We do not keep a log of those search terms on the site operator's end.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends a message to the site's operators, the message may be retained so a reply can be made. It is handled within the operating team and is not shared outside it unless a legal duty requires that disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, technical systems may receive details about how it was viewed, such as:
- The time and date of a page request
- The browser and its version
- The device type and operating system
- The pages opened and time spent on them
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- The referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files may be stored on a device to measure page use and traffic patterns. Analytics tools can combine visit data to show which pages draw attention or where visitors leave. Browser settings can block cookies, though some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Information described above may be used for routine site operations:
- To keep pages working and improve load speed
- To send a search request to the provider that runs the tool
- To see which reference topics need clearer explanations
- To find and repair technical faults
- To display advertising, which may reflect general browsing interests
No Warrant Data on File
This website does not host or sell a database of Cochran County warrants, case files, or personal warrant information. It gives general directions to the sheriff, the courts that issue process, the countywide JP, and city courts. Requests for government records must go to the office that keeps the record, not to this private site. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public-information requests to covered governmental bodies, subject to exceptions.
The Texas Public Information Act does not make this website a government custodian. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled here as a consumer report.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes are supplied by companies outside this site. Any text a visitor submits is handled under the provider's privacy policy and retention practices, which we do not set. Review those terms before using a search tool. A provider's results are not an official Cochran County court response.
Links to Other Websites
Pages may link to the Cochran County Sheriff, County and District Clerk, countywide JP, municipal courts, Texas agencies, and outside information providers. When a link is opened, the destination's privacy practices apply to that visit. Read the terms there before providing details about a case.
The sheriff, combined clerk, and JP links lead to Cochran County office sites, where each agency's own policies apply.
Some advertising services may track browsing activity on their own systems to select ads. We do not operate that tracking or control the data those services retain.
Who Might See Your Data
The site does not sell personal data. Information may be processed by:
- Search providers that receive queries submitted to their tools
- Analytics services that measure site traffic
- Advertising networks that place sponsored material
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal demand requires a response
Each provider uses its own systems and policies for the data it receives.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information the site operator handles. No internet-connected service can promise that a breach will never occur. Security steps reduce risk but cannot make an absolute guarantee that data will remain safe.
Users Under 18
This reference is intended for adults, and the operators do not knowingly collect personal details from a person under 18. Texas law separately protects juvenile arrest-warrant records from general release. If information is identified as having been sent directly to the site by a minor, it will be removed when identified.
The Texas Family Code Section 58.010 is the source for juvenile-warrant confidentiality. It applies to government case material, not to the site's general descriptions of court procedures.
Your Data Rights
Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541 may give consumers rights to confirm whether personal data is processed, access or correct it, request deletion or a copy, and opt out of certain processing. Coverage depends on the law's definitions, scope, and exceptions; these rights do not apply to every site or data use in the same way.
- Ask whether covered personal data is being processed and request access
- Seek correction of inaccurate data within the law's scope
- Request deletion or a portable copy when the statute applies
- Opt out of covered targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling
See Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541, including Section 541.051, for the statutory text. A request about a government warrant record belongs with its issuing court or law-enforcement office.
Updates to This Policy
The privacy terms may change if site practices or legal requirements change. A revised copy will replace the older one here and show a new effective date. Review the policy again if you want to know which practices apply to a later visit.
